MEDICAL EDUCATION MODELS: CHOOSING THE RIGHT MODEL FOR THE RIGHT PROCEDURE

ANATOMICAL MODEL MANUFACTURERS: FORMING A PARTNERSHIP FOR HIGHEST QUALITY PRODUCTS

Simulation bone models are preferred in orthopaedic training and education thanks to their advantages over organic specimens. Cadaveric specimens require special handling, have a limited shelf life, and can be costly to acquire. They also inordinately represent elderly patients compared to other segments of the population. Simulation bone models offer greater consistency, variety, and a realistic experience of a biological specimen when subjected to surgical procedures.

Disposable bone models offer a cost-effective, hands-on solution for orthopedic instruction that accelerates skills transfer to the operating room. These models are customizable to suit the needs of increasingly populated courses and pre-clinical labs.

Because arthroscopy requires coordinated small hand movements without direct visualization, orthopedic students must master psychomotor skills. Residency programs can raise the quality of instruction and improve students' proficiency by using dedicated psychomotor skills assessment tools for arthroscopy training, such as the Fundamentals Of Arthroscopic Skills Training (FAST) workstation. Click the link in our bio to learn how to level up arthroscopic skills training with the FAST Workstation! #arthroscopy #sportsmedicine #orthopedics #orthopaedics

Rotator cuff repair procedures involve using arthroscopic procedures and equipment. Desktop trainers sustain the necessary repetitive practice to master basic psychomotor skills anywhere at any time.

Compact hard bone is unique and requires special handling when setting fractures and drilling holes. A realistic cortical shell model can recreate the feel of compact bone while allowing for more effortless drilling and handling for training.

Did you know your spine consists of 24 moving vertebrae? When you are born, your #spine is actually made up of 33 vertebrae, but as we get older, some of those #vertebrae fuse together.

Honoring our military veterans. Happy Veteran's Day from Team Sawbones.

There are more than 200 bones in the human body, and all of them have the potential need for a training model. While it’s not practical to equip a training program with hundreds of bone models, affordable and effective models are available to enhance education and sales training.

Recreating specific fracture types in generic models representing a trauma location can be a cost-effective solution for extensive demos, labs or workshops. Such models can highlight the intricacies and challenges in traumas across different fracture types, such as spiral or four-part fractures on extremities.

We will be exhibiting for the first time at the NZOA-AOA Combined ASM in booth 12! Morten and Peter look forward to discussing how Sawbones can support your work in medical training, education, and product demonstration.

Did you know intramedullary nailing is the most common method for treating tibia fractures? During this procedure, a metal rod is inserted into the canal of the tibia. The rod passes across the fracture to keep it stable and secured with screws at both ends

Sawbones Team Spotlight: Trim. The Trim department is the hourglass of Sawbones. Most parts filter through Trim to have flash removed, get cleaned up for distribution, and quality control checked for defects.

Femur bone model features should give users a thorough understanding of the treatment for common fracture patterns in this area, including open, oblique, comminuted, and transverse injuries.

Lumbar spine models are as dynamic and varied as the treatments they prepare medical students to master. Click the link in our bio to learn more!
