Mold Maker I

SUMMARY: 

This is an introductory to intermediate mold making position.  Learn how to design, make, and repair production molds in various materials.  Develop a broad range of hands-on skills from sculpting, welding, woodwork, and metal fabrication to build molds and fixtures.   Develop problem solving skill needed to effectively design or repair molds that are efficient and user friendly.  Employ your artistic strengths to create detailed, realistic parts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mold Maker II/III

We are considering an intermediate or advanced level mold making position. Design and fabricate molds employing a broad range of skills from sculpting, welding, woodwork, and metal fabrication. Create new patterns from scratch, or from 3D printed parts and refining, polishing, texturing, or modifying to desired effect. Use creativity and problem-solving skills to provide safe, efficient molds and quality parts. Repair all types of damaged or poorly functioning molds. Create jigs and fixtures out of various materials to improve production processes.

Shipping Resolutions Coordinator

A Shipping Resolutions Coordinator plays a crucial role in logistics and supply chain management. This is a logistics professional who prepares, tracks, and communicates with customers and carriers about shipments.  They are also responsible for negotiating fees, preparing quotes, issuing instructions and ensuring compliance with documentation and regulations. Machine Maintenance Mechanic III

SUMMARY: 

Advanced level maintenance mechanic. Specific skills include mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining, welding, and electrical. Duties include installation, maintenance and repair of production or processing equipment. May fabricate machine parts, install/repair conveyers, replace motors, tear down or replace pumps, maintain fluid collection or distribution equipment or repair electro-mechanical equipment. Perform advanced-level troubleshooting, work in collaboration with the team, and may provide training to less experienced maintenance staff. This is a role that provides a great diversity of experience, creative thinking, and exposure to skills/machinery on many levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments, Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance and service. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

1 - 2 years of technical training and 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent. Able to do electrical work, program computers in manufacturing, and follow safety regulations. Design Engineer I-III

SUMMARY:

Performs design engineering assignments applying standard engineering practices and principles. Work ranges from entry-level to complex.  Uses various tools such as SolidWorks, hand sketches, digital sculpting, 3D printing, laser scanning, materials research, and physical prototyping to create new product designs.  The design process is highly interactive between the engineering team, the tool-making department, various production centers in the plant, the sales team, and the customer.  Design projects are generally mechanical in nature with the occasional integration of basic electronics or software.  The Design Engineer will typically manage a project from start to finish - from initial concepts through the first production order.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product Design - Use CAD, materials selection, and general prototyping processes to generate new product designs.  Work directly with customers to define and achieve design goals. Clearly organize and document customer communication and design progression.

  • Design for Manufacturing – Identify appropriate materials and processes to produce new products.  This is achieved through knowledge and proficiency in all manufacturing centers in the plant plus the ability to find and leverage outside technologies. Guide the design of new molds and fixtures.  Train the manufacturing team on new parts.

  • Quoting  - Accurately estimate labor standards, material costs, development costs, and timelines.

  • Prototyping – Hands-on fabrication of prototypes and first articles using the machine shop, molding equipment, hand tools, power tools, hand work, and assembly.

  • Manufacturing Handoff - Coordinate the introduction of new products into the manufacturing plant. Consistently create thorough SOP’s and Quality Standards.  Proficient use of the MRP system to enter BOM’s, launch Jobs, track schedules, etc.

  • Project Management

    • Simple Projects:  Obvious solution/outcome, the goal is an efficient transition through design, prototyping, tooling and manufacturing handoff.  Often involves multiple projects at once.

    • Complex Projects:  Non-obvious solution, creativity required, longer timeline, multiple project levels, manage budget, schedule, and manufacturing handoff.

Quality Engineer

SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality and compliance with regulatory standards. They collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to create and maintain Quality standards and processes. They will also provide quality assurance support at all levels, ensuring that products meet customer specifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Facilitates the creation and upkeep of departmental standards and processes.

  • Responsible for maintaining Standard Operating Procedure format and standards.

  • Responsible for the following:

  • Customer Quality-related requests on systems/processes

  • Customer Compliance-related requests

  • Customer Quality concerns and RMA’s

  • Supports Production team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process. Includes support of:

    • SOP QC interpretation

    • QC testing tools and processes

    • QC training

  • Work with department supervisors to ensure quality protocols are being followed and employees are properly trained in relevant quality standards.

  • Work with Engineering to ensure product quality is defined.

  • Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.

  • Ensures incoming product and materials meet defined quality standards.

  • Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects. Responsible for running recurring Quality reports (Ex. Scrap rate by %/$.)

Scheduler I

Weekday Shift 5:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday
(Wage Range: $22 - $28 per hour - DOE) 

SUMMARY:

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules utilizing computer scheduling software to ensure daily production requirements meet customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Check, analyze and verify the availability of material and tools; Create daily schedules by prioritizing orders.; Route work to minimize machine time and set up; Arrange for the movement of material and parts from stockrooms to work stations or between processing departments; Utilize MRP to create master schedules based on customers’ orders or instructions; Follow-up with Customer Service, purchasing and production staff to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation; Interact with production supervisors daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing gaps; Complete status reports regarding production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory; Meet established scheduling productivity/accuracy levels and deadlines; Participate in continuous improvement effort; Maintain orderly and clean work station; Use computers to access and input information; Cross train in all scheduling areas; Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required; Follow appropriate safety precautions; Assist others as directed by Supervisor; Assist Supervisor as directed; Performs other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Can independently coordinate work between multiple staff members across departments.
· Ability to identify root cause of scheduling issues and potential paths forward to resolution.
· Strong communication skills as needed to escalate production issues impacting the execution of schedules.
· Basic math skills.
· Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Excel).
· Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
· One year of MRP system experience preferred.
