Machine Maintenance Mechanic Lead
Department: Maintenance & Repair
Schedule: Full-Time, Hours TBD
Reports to: Plant Engineering Manager
Wage Range: $35 - $55/hr DOE
Summary
This is an advanced level maintenance mechanic with experience in mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, fabrication and electrical. The position will also be responsible for facility compliance with federal, state and local regulations. In addition, the position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, or mentor, less experienced maintenance and custodial staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on facilities or production equipment.
- Safely install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
- Define and assign tasks for other Facilities team personnel.
- Quickly and effectively resolve equipment issues on Production floor.
- Collaborate with Production teams on scheduled and unscheduled machine downtime.
- Facilitate contractors or outsourcing of work when necessary.
- Ensure facility and equipment meets federal, state and local regulations.
- Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
- Track and perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
Job Requirements
- Understanding and ability to repair or replace engines, motors, pumps, valves, cylinders and compressors.
- Ability to work with urethanes, epoxies, silicones, paints, cleaners, adhesives and other resins.
- Strong understanding and experience with low and high voltage electrical systems including single and three phase.
- Ability to design and fabricate parts using welding, bandsaws, lathes and mills.
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, precision measuring tools and wiring schematics.
- Ability to operate forklift and scissor lift.
- Capable of working at heights on lifts or ladders.
- Basic skills with computers including Microsoft office programs and emailing.
- Technical degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Valid driver's license required.

Occasionally required to climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor or lead team.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits and National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Experience with HVAC and ventilation systems.
