Description
This multi-discipline training model allows users to incorporate manual reduction with real-time fluoroscopic visualization. Model features alignment markers for reduction confirmation visible under fluoroscopy. Traditional roll on casting, performed by manually reducing the fracture, can be done with or without finger traps. Casting materials can be removed using standard cast removal techniques. Includes a multi-position universal bed rail clamp allowing the user to train in the most common patient positions.
Research conclusion for this model:
"This is the first distal radius fracture reduction model to incorporate an elbow and shoulder and allow quantitative assessment of the fracture reduction. This simulator may be useful in an orthopaedic resident training program to help them reach a defined minimum level of competency. This simulator also could easily be integrated in other accreditation and training programs, including emergency medicine."
