Orthopaedics in Action™ Scoliosis Diagnosis Module

Interactive lesson recommended for Grades 7 through 12 STEM classrooms. Students learn about the anatomy of the spine and how to diagnose and treat scoliosis.

Orthopaedics In Action™ is a unique, hands-on curriculum for middle and high school STEM classrooms that features real-world challenges from orthopaedic surgery and biomedical engineering.

They apply their knowledge to determine the severity of a patient's scoliosis by examining her spinal x-rays. This lesson applies concepts from geometry, anatomy, and experimental design.
