Ultrasound Internal Jugular and Carotid Cannulation Module, Clear Tone

The Ultrasound Internal Jugular and Carotid Cannulation Module, Clear Tone (500-301-30) is a central line training neck module used for central venous access (jugular), hemodialysis catheterization, and single- or dual-site ECMO cannulation, sized to the anatomy of a late adolescent or small adult. Part of the RediStik^® line of cannulation models, it's clear construction lets users see the internal jugular vein and carotid artery directly, making it ideal for instructor-led demonstration and introductory ultrasound-guided access training. The jugular vein accepts cannulas up to 24 French and the carotid artery up to 20 French; the tissue itself accepts up to a 23 French cannula or dilator without any need for dilation. Vessels are rated for 5 to 10 cannulations depending on device size and technique, with the surrounding tissue good for 20 or more uses; both vessels are easily replaced once worn.

This module doubles as a standalone trainer for vessel location, needle insertion, hemodialysis venous catheterization, and short catheter access, or it can be expanded into a full ECMO circuit: a quick-turn rotational base lets it lock directly onto the Ultrasound Right Heart Chamber and Valve Visualization Module (500-201-30/32) or the Clear Heart Visualization Module (501-301), supporting single- or dual-site ECMO configurations (VV, VA, and other combinations) and giving users the choice between ultrasound-guided or purely visual training tracks. A proximal manifold and distal Y-shaped manifold complete the circuit and allow priming with a 1,000 mL bag of blood solution and a height-adjustable IV tower, so instructors can control flashback and back pressure at the moment of venipuncture.

Once connected to the Clear Heart Visualization Model or Ultrasound Right Heart Chamber and Valve Visualization Module and primed, users can track a needle tip under ultrasound down to the jugular vein, follow a guidewire through the model and into the right atrium while avoiding common snags such as the tricuspid valve or simulated hepatic veins, confirm proper catheter placement, and demonstrate flow on an active circuit. Sutures can also be placed after catheter removal for closure practice, and included soap can be used as a lubricant for catheters with a rougher surface.
