Description
The Ultrasound Right Heart Chamber and Valve Visualization Module, Medium Tone (500-201-32) is an ECMO and central line training chest module built for ultrasound-only practice of guidewire navigation, Doppler flow assessment, and true-to-life ECPR (Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation) compressions. It shares the same right heart anatomy as the Clear Tone version (500-201-30), including the right atrium and right ventricle with a functional tricuspid valve, in an opaque, flesh-toned build. Part of the RediStik® line of cannulation models, it's made with our Resonance™ ultrasound tissue, which is ultrasoundable, self-healing, and temperature stable, giving users a realistic, ultrasound-only training experience without visual cues, including the ability to watch the tricuspid leaflets move under live imaging as fluid moves through the circuit.
This module expands into a full ECMO compatible simulator: a quick-turn locking base joins it directly to the Ultrasound Internal Jugular and Carotid Cannulation Module (500-301-30/32) for single- or dual-site VA ECMO, and it is also compatible with the 500-702 series femoral access model (COMING SOON) for more configurations . A proximal manifold and distal Y-shaped manifold give the circuit two priming ports, so the whole system can be filled with a 1,000 mL bag of blood solution using a height-adjustable IV tower to control flow and back pressure. Because this module is opaque, instructors can scan directly over the right ventricle with the probe to confirm trapped air has cleared before a session begins.
Once primed, users can navigate a guidewire through the right atrium and into the inferior vena cava while watching the tricuspid leaflets move under ultrasound as fluid passes through the circuit, taking care to avoid inadvertent entry into the right ventricle and to keep the wire from diverting into the simulated hepatic veins. The chest module also supports true-to-life compressions for ECPR practice during simultaneous neck or groin cannulation, and users can confirm correct wire and catheter tip depth and visualize flow moving between chambers under Doppler.
